NAIT is an Islamic Waqf with a mission to help the American Muslim community follow Islamic principles within the American Law, by safeguarding Islamic organizations’ properties as their title-holding Trustee, establishing financial investment vehicles, developing and implementing Halal certification standards for goods and services, all focused on a worldly and spiritually successful life in the United States.
Who we are?
The North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) is the founder of waqf and halal investing in America.
Established in 1973 as a tax exempt 501(c)3, NAIT is America’s first, largest and the “only nationwide” institution reviving the Prophet’s sunnah of Waqf committed to the growth and protection of Muslim community assets and institutions.
Almost 400 Islamic organizations’ properties in 42 states are currently entrusted to NAIT. Properties held as Waqf are operated primarily for religious teachings and worship.
From developing halal financial tools for a secure and sustainable financial future to halal certification and training, and publishing 100+ credible Islamic books, everything NAIT does is aimed toward helping the Muslim community realize a successful future in America and lead a halal lifestyle.
NAIT also consistently helps the entrusted partners with legal, financial, administrative and management advice and support. These services are provided to the community free of cost.
